You Made Me Believe Different

If you’re reading this, it’s definitely because I feel it is the right time to share it with the world.

Even though deep down I want to hold onto it for myself just a little longer.

If I could go back to the first conversation we had, and get a glimpse into the future that we were not going to stop at that conversation, that we would have a thousand more, a thousand more conversations filled with laughter, smiles, and even the intimacy of silences shared between two people who had no idea they would progress from being just individuals to being each other’s persons.

But if I’m being honest with myself, I may have had a hunch because with you it was always different. There were no mind games, no push and pull. And I always saw it in your eyes whenever I caught you stealing glances; the admiration.

A friend told me if you can see it in their eyes, chances are they can see it in yours as well. Maybe that was all you needed to show me a different side to love; to show me the beauty in vulnerability.

If I’m to use words that are not mine; it’s easy to catch a vibe these days, all you need is a similar music taste or a shared interest in celebrity. But you know it’s real when the music you usually talk about is no more there but you’re comfortable just existing in the presence of each other in the shared intimacy of silence.

There’s beauty in the naivety of falling in love and in a generation of sneaky links and no labels, you reminded me of this forgotten beauty.

Safe to say I met the outlier of the zodiac sign; the emotionally available Libra.

Who would have thought.
